Inside St Mary's Church

Currently St. Mary’s and Old Parish Church hold a four month block of Sunday worship which alternates with Teviot Church at 11.00 am followed by a 4 month of block at 9.30 am. These services have been conducted by the minister with occasional services led by the Leading Worship Group and others. Members of the Congregation and Session take turns at reading the lessons in the service. We record music for most Sundays which has been very successful. There is also an organ and an electric piano in the Church which can be used to complement the recordings.

Communion is celebrated four times a year with a special Communion held for people who find attending church difficult held in the Church Halls twice a year in April and September, this takes place mid- week and has been very successful.

There are also special annual services of dedication for The Guild, The Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade. Special services are held at Easter, Harvest Thanksgiving, Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas Watch Night Service.

The Junior Church attends Church for the first part of each Sunday service after which they are escorted to nearby church halls to continue with their worship. The Junior Church contributes to occasional services.

On Palm Sunday services are shared with the St. Cuthbert’s Church.
